By Rtr. Gavindya Manamperi The annual cricket match between CCS and IIT was held on the 19th of August 2018, at the BRC grounds where the newly appointed board of directors and members of the CCS Rotaract Club enjoyed themselves as well as raised funds by setting up a bake sale. The Bake Sale was adorned with delicious kebabs, homemade food, instant mojitos and various other beverages. Both spectators and participants enjoyed the delicacies of our food stall, while getting their thirst quenched with our remarkable mojitos, ideal after hours of getting scorched in the hot sun. The bake sale was done as a Club Service project, it was quite a success as we raised a lot of funds at the end of the day.

Rotaract Zest                                                                                                      By Rtr. Lihini Jayasinghe The Rotaract Zest is an annually conducted project by the Rotaract Club of College of Chemical Sciences as a tradition to welcome the newly joined Rotaractors from the junior batch. For this year, 2018 it was held on the 9 th of July at the PPGL Siriwardana Auditorium. The day started off with an introduction to Rotaract using multimedia presentations. A special thanks goes out to Dr.Chinthaka Ratnaweera for taking his time to share a few words with us and for inspiring our new Rotaractors. The new Rotaractors were then made to introduce themselves with a little bit of personal information they were comfortable sharing to everyone present there as everyone was yet to get to know them. Following that the Immediate Past President Rtr. Dilendra Wijesekara shared her experiences she has gained through Rotaract with the audience a

Pack Away Hunger By. Rtr. Sanduni Nakandala Not to make you feel guilty, but please take a minute to think about what you threw out of your refrigerator this week: that piece of cake you could not finish, the yogurt that had passed its’ expiration date, the leftover food from last night. It all adds up. Now look around you, think of the people who are not privileged enough to even buy one meal per day. Can you even imagine having to wait till the shops close before you can “go home” because your “home” is actually a busy street by day? When you see the conditions that the poor & homeless people in your city live in, you will come to understand how lucky and fortunate you truly are to be able to live somewhere you are able to call home. Even if you are just renting a room and can’t afford a house yet, it is still much better than having to collect recycled bottles to make a living during the day, and scavenge for thrown away food in garbage cans. Once you start real

The Scavenger Hunt By Rtr. Pevindra Rathnayake I consider myself to be a PHD holder. A PHD in what? you may ask as I just turned 21 this year. I got a PHD in putting things off, waking up late, snoozing the alarm a hundred times before waking up, and getting things done at the last moment. Yes, I am a MASTER   procrastinator. July 22 nd  of 2018 is a day that I will never forget as I woke up to the sound of my alarm and for the first time in a really long time I did not hit snooze. The reason behind this sudden change was the scavenger hunt organized by the Rotaract club of CCS that was scheduled for later that day. I was excited to take part in it as it was my first ever scavenger hunt and my first big event after I joined the club. All the participants, made exclusively of first years/new members were randomly grouped into 5 groups of six or seven.   Every group was given the same to-do list with 22 tasks. The   tasks varied from   doable, like taking a selfie with
