  World creative and innovation day World creative and innovation day is a global UN day celebrated on April 21st to raise the awareness about the importance of creativity and innovation in problem solving with the help of advancing United Nations sustainable development goals. The world's first creativity and innovation day was celebrated on April 21st in 2018. Creativity and innovation are beneficial in every walk of life, occupation and career. From those in customer services to politicians to scientists, all have to be creative to find new ways to solve problems. To celebrate this day, we can step forward out of our frame and try to look at the world in a different point of view. Meeting new people and people who have different opinion about various topics can be a really good mood to step out of the world to be more creative.                                 International Mother Earth day       22nd of April 2021                                    The United Nations General Assembly has proclaimed the 22nd of April as International Mother Earth day. April 22nd (1970) is the day which the dawn of the modern environmental movement took place. Though we think our earth is a safe place to live in, the truth is quite different. We've polluted the environment and as a result, all the living beings are in great danger.                               On this day we should strongly encourage everyone to save our planet Earth as this is the only one that supports life and we have no other alternatives to survive.                                     Every Earth day has a theme.   Sinhala and Tamil new year Sri Lankans celebrate New Year festival which is based upon the journey of sun from House of Pisces to House of Arises. Sinhalese call this function as Aluth Awrudha and to tamiles it is Puththandu. And it symbolises the end of the harvest season. It is generally celebrated on 13 th April or 14 th April. S ri Lankans celebrate this event grandly. B efore the festival t hey make their traditional sweets such as Kavum, Kokis, Alwa. And they dress up with new cloths. New year festival begins with “punya Kalaya” (neutral period). It is a fasting period sri Lankan spend this period with religious activities. There are   series of rituals based on astrological calculations. It starts with the lighting fire to make Kiribath (milk rice) then they enter to the first business transaction and eat the first morsels. Main rituals of sinhala and tamil new year, Preparing food Sri Lankans prepare milk rice. And they boil milk in a new clay pot for prosperity.
