World Children’s Day
Like every other year, today Sri Lanka celebrates the special day dedicated to the purest, merriest, endlessly creative, carefree souls among us. Without a doubt, this is a day to rejoice. However, as a young adult, I am slightly jealous of all the youngsters celebrating Children's day today. Little ones have faith in what might seem impossible and have goals beyond their temporary means. Ask them what they want to be when they grow up. Some of the answers might surprise you. The president of the country? An astronaut? Santa? They live in a beautiful world filled with wonders and endless possibilities. So were we before we fell into ‘the adulthood’ trap and now instead, we live in a world with endless obstacles. We lost faith when society forced us to adopt social norms and accepted ways of thinking.
