World Children’s Day

Like every other year, today Sri Lanka celebrates the special day dedicated to the purest, merriest, endlessly creative, carefree souls among us. Without a doubt, this is a day to rejoice.  However, as a young adult, I am slightly jealous of all the youngsters celebrating Children's day today. Little ones have faith in what might seem impossible and have goals beyond their temporary means. Ask them what they want to be when they grow up. Some of the answers might surprise you. The president of the country? An astronaut? Santa? They live in a beautiful world filled with wonders and endless possibilities. So were we before we fell into ‘the adulthood’ trap and now instead, we live in a world with endless obstacles. International Daughters Day

  International Daughters day in September is to celebrate and cherish our daughters who bring so much love into our lives, families and homes. Although there is no specific reason to celebrate Daughters Day, it is nice to allow paying daughters how much they are loved and show them some extra attention. International Daughters Day recalls us to show unconditional love to our beautiful and sometimes demanding daughters. With ageing parents, especially a daughter maintains the level of connectivity and commitments that keeps the families together and healthy.   International Daughters Day on the fourth Sunday in September Celebrates the girl child. It is the day for parents to honour their daughters and show them how much they are appreciated. Spend the day with your daughters. Allow them to teach you something you didn’t already know.
