Nena Saviya: A Helping Hand from Us to Conquer Tomorrow

Education is the cornerstone of a brighter future, yet many students from underprivileged schools lack the resources and guidance needed to excel in their studies. Recognizing this need, the Rotaract Club of College of Chemical Sciences launched "Nena Saviya"—a project aimed at empowering students by providing academic support in Mathematics and Science for their GCE Ordinary Level examinations.

Phase 1: Viharamahadevi Balika Vidyalaya (11th February 2025)

The first phase of Nena Saviya was conducted at Viharamahadevi Balika Vidyalaya, Colombo 10, where our team of dedicated volunteers engaged with students in interactive revision sessions. We focused on clarifying key concepts, solving past paper questions, and strengthening their problem-solving skills. The enthusiasm and active participation from the students made the session a rewarding experience for both the learners and our volunteers.

Phase 2: Sri Sangaraja Central College (07th March 2025)

The second phase took place at Sri Sangaraja Central College, Colombo 10, where we continued our mission to bridge educational gaps. Our team tailored the sessions to address common difficulties faced by students, ensuring they gained confidence in tackling exam questions. The gratitude expressed by both students and teachers reinforced the impact of our initiative.

Why Nena Saviya?

Underprivileged schools often lack access to additional academic support, putting their students at a disadvantage. Through Nena Saviya, we aimed to level the playing field by offering free, high-quality revision assistance. Our catchphrase, "A helping hand from us to conquer tomorrow", reflects our commitment to empowering young minds for a successful future.

The Rotaract Club of College of Chemical Sciences is proud to have contributed to these students' educational journeys and remains dedicated to creating more opportunities for learning and growth.

Together, we can build a brighter tomorrow—one lesson at a time!
