Smashes from Carom Bash 2k16!

Long awaited Carom Bash tournament for Carom lovers was held on 15th August, 2016 by Rotaract club of CCS. The event was nerve breaking that every second was spent around the board with crowd clashing with supports with lots of unpredictable combos from unimaginably talented players from our CCS. It felt like a life time for all the players at the board.

The event started after lighting of the traditional oil lamp and with the blessings from the dean of College of Chemical Sciences, Professor P. Paranagama and all other professors and lecturers. Then the exciting game of carom started with men’s only tournaments. Each team player was categorized randomly into groups and each game winner from the perticular category was chosen according to the points. The rules and the criteria for qualifying for quarterfinals, semi-finals and finals were mentioned before the game by Rtr. Pathum. Then exciting game of carom started with extremely talented winners emerging after each game round and Mr. Prasad and Rtr. Cristo emerged as chamipions.


Then the women’s tournaments started and within the group of lovely players Ms. Nishika and Ms. Sajani from level 2 emerged as the winners. Afterwards mixed tournament was started and Mr. Prasad and Rtr. Thushmila emerged as champions.




The event was made memorable by many nerve breaking moments with a record of highest number of combo shots in Ichem history. Refreshments were provided for the exhausted and pressurized players. As the ice breaker event Rtr. Ashen organized a mind blowing game; air bowling for side.

Finally each champion was rewarded by gracious amount of two thousand rupees along with certificates. Thanks to our dear organizing committee of Rotaract, the event was a massive success and a day filled with awesome moments.

Making a Life-Saving Impact : Drops of Hope 23'

On October 6, 2023, the Rotaract Club of College of Chemical Sciences joined forces with the Rotaract Club of Katugastota Region and the Interact Club of Kingswood College to organize a remarkable blood donation campaign, Drops of Hope 23’ , at the Kandy Baptist Church. With over 60 generous donors stepping forward, the campaign proved to be a resounding success. The importance of blood donation cannot be overstated. It is a selfless act of giving that has the power to save lives and offer hope to those in need. Every day, countless individuals face medical emergencies that require blood transfusions. By donating blood, we become the lifeline for these individuals, providing them with a chance at recovery and a brighter future.
