The 7th Installation of the Rotaract Club of College of Chemical Sciences

The Rotaract Club of the College of Chemical Sciences held its' 7th Installation at the PPGL Siriwardana Auditorium, Adamantane House, on the 23rd of July 2018, inducting its' new council of directors for the Rotaract year 2018/2019.

Our club has been excelling over the years right from its inception, winning numerous awards and accolades at the past district assemblies held.
This year too, at the 28th District Assembly, our club won the Bronze award for the Best Mental Health Awareness Project.


 The 7th Installation was graced by the presence of our Chief Guest, our very own senior lecturer, Professor S P Deraniyagala and Guest of Honour, Rotarian PHF Lee Bazalgette, President of our parent club, Rotary Club of Colombo Regency.



The proceedings commenced with the traditional lighting of the oil lamp, followed by the Rotaract anthem, Rotaract invocation and flag salutation.
Our esteemed dignitaries and guests were then welcomed by the incoming joint secretary, Rtr. Dilimi Karunadasa.
One of the main highlights of the event was the address by the outgoing President Rtr. Dilendra Wijesekara who presented her one last speech representing the board of directors for 2017/2018 and passed on the mantle of the club to the incoming President, Rtr. Yaqeen Ahamed Rejal entrusting him with the clubs’ future to uphold.


Rtr. Yaqeen Ahamed Rejal introduced and inducted his board of directors for the year 2018/2019, with whom he will work towards strengthening the club’s legacy and future success.

Entertainment for the night was provided by Rtr. Elon Newton from the Rotaract Club of Colombo West revitalizing the event even more by his remarkable vocals.



 The night ended with a sumptuous feast for our invitees and guests at the college rooftop under a thousand blue lights and candles that lit up the place giving a touch of tranquil and warmth, a perfect ending to a perfect night that initiated yet another year of efficacious CSS Rotaract.

Making a Life-Saving Impact : Drops of Hope 23'

On October 6, 2023, the Rotaract Club of College of Chemical Sciences joined forces with the Rotaract Club of Katugastota Region and the Interact Club of Kingswood College to organize a remarkable blood donation campaign, Drops of Hope 23’ , at the Kandy Baptist Church. With over 60 generous donors stepping forward, the campaign proved to be a resounding success. The importance of blood donation cannot be overstated. It is a selfless act of giving that has the power to save lives and offer hope to those in need. Every day, countless individuals face medical emergencies that require blood transfusions. By donating blood, we become the lifeline for these individuals, providing them with a chance at recovery and a brighter future.
