The Rotaract Club of College of Chemical Sciences proudly celebrated its 13th Installation Ceremony on the 30th of September 2025, a momentous occasion that marked another milestone in the club’s journey of service, leadership, and unity. The ceremony stood as a testament to years of dedication and passion that have defined the club’s legacy within the Rotaract movement.

The evening commenced with the house being called to order by the outgoing Sergeant at Arms, Rtr. Dinethmin Jayasekera, in accordance with Rotaract protocol. The proceedings then continued with the presentation of the annual report by the outgoing Joint Secretaries, Rtr. Bilal Salahudeen and Rtr. Sathnara Fernando. Their comprehensive recap beautifully captured the club’s journey over the past year, highlighting impactful community outreach programs, meaningful environmental initiatives, professional development sessions, and dynamic inter-club collaborations that strengthened the club’s network and left a lasting impact.

Serving as the Project Chairperson, Rtr. Minanga Kumaranayaka and the organizing committee ensured that every element of the day reflected the club’s professionalism and spirit of camaraderie. The event welcomed Rotaractors, distinguished guests, and well-wishers who gathered to witness the official transition of leadership and celebrate a new chapter in the club’s story. The ceremony was made possible through the generous support of our platinum sponsors: Original Films (PVT) LTD and Electro Metal Pressings (PVT) LTD, whose contributions played a key role in bringing this event to life.

Distinguished guests added prestige to the evening, including PHSM Rtn. Narmada Muller, President of the Rotary Club of Colombo Regency 2025/26, as Chief Guest; PHF PP Rtn. Gehan de Alwis, Youth Service Chair of the Rotary Club of Colombo Regency 2025/26, as Guest of Honour; and Rtr. Following this, Incoming President Rtr. Nazeem Cassim was ceremoniously collared by Rtr. Sayumi Tissaaratchy, signifying the official transition of leadership. With the symbolic handover of the gavel, he stepped forward to lead the club into a new era. In an inspiring address, he shared a vision centered on unity, creativity, and service to others, echoing the Rotary International theme “Unite for Good.” Upholding the club’s guiding words, “Spark the Change, Be the Light”,  he encouraged every member to embrace leadership through action, compassion, and collaboration, lighting the way for meaningful change in the year ahead.

Adding to the warmth of the event, members of the Rotaract Club of the College of Chemical Sciences showcased their talents through soulful musical performances, creating an atmosphere filled with joy and fellowship. The melodies echoed the club’s togetherness and served as a reminder that Rotaract is not only about service but also about connection, creativity, and shared experiences.

As the evening drew to a close, it was evident that the 13th Installation Ceremony was more than a change of leadership - it was a celebration of continuity, passion, and the spirit of service that unites every Rotaractor. With renewed determination and a shared vision, the club stands ready to embark on another remarkable year, striving to make a difference within and beyond its walls.
