In lieu of Mother’s Day, the Rotaract Club of College of Chemical Sciences collaborated with the Indi Foundation to deliver thoughtful gift hampers to 120 mothers with children battling cancer at Apeksha Cancer Hospital Maharagama. This heartwarming project took place on May 14th at the Indi Foundation Center, aiming to honor these mothers for their unwavering dedication and strength during challenging times. The initiative sought to remind these remarkable women that there is hope and that their tireless efforts do not go unnoticed.

Recognizing that many of these mothers face financial constraints and often prioritize their children's needs over their own, we curated gift hampers specifically tailored for them. Each hamper included items such as sanitary products, an umbrella, perfume, earrings, claw clips, soap, hair oil and a heartfelt card of appreciation.

The budget was covered in just 2 weeks through generous donations, sponsorships, and partnerships, the project received vital support from Abans as the main sponsor and AIA Insurance as the co-sponsor. Partnering with Fems, Velvet, and Kumarika further enriched the project's impact and success.

The event resonated deeply with the mothers, many of whom expressed that they felt truly seen and valued for the first time.

It was a touching experience, especially considering the strength of most of these children come from their mothers.

This initiative underscored the importance of supporting these mothers with love and care, recognizing their pivotal role in nurturing and empowering their children.
