ROTA. NEWBIES

Embarking on their first journey into the world of service and leadership, the new members of the Rotaract Club of the College of Chemical Sciences were welcomed through Project ROTA Newbies. The event served as an engaging introduction to the club, its avenues of service, and the opportunities to grow, contribute, and make a meaningful impact.

The program began with a warm and inspiring address from the President, who introduced the newcomers to Rotaract, explaining its purpose, values, and the ways members can develop leadership skills while serving the community. The importance of each member’s role in the club’s initiatives was highlighted, encouraging active participation and involvement. The speech set a motivating tone, inspiring the “Rota Newbies” to approach their journey with confidence and enthusiasm.

A key highlight of the event was the introduction of the Executive Committee and Avenue Directors. Through photos, videos, and personal experiences, they shared how each avenue contributes to the club and the wider community. This gave the new members a clear understanding of where their own skills and interests could be applied in the upcoming RI year 2026/27, helping them make informed decisions about their involvement.

The session continued with a video presentation showcasing the club’s projects and achievements for the RI year 2025/26, giving members a glimpse of the impact they are now part of. Adding to this, DRR Rtr PP Nazmi Mahmood joined as a special guest, introducing Rotary to the new Rotaractors and providing insight into the wider movement. The connection between Rotaract and Rotary was explained, including the pathway for Rotaractors to eventually become Rotarians. This guidance encouraged members to view their Rotaract journey as the beginning of a long-term commitment to service, leadership, and meaningful community engagement.

Interactive games and team-building activities followed, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere. Participants connected with one another, building friendships and fostering camaraderie as laughter and teamwork filled the room.

ROTA Newbies concluded on a high note, leaving members inspired, motivated, and ready to begin their journey. More than just an orientation, the project celebrated learning, connection, and the spirit of service - reinforcing a simple yet powerful message: the more you give to Rotaract, the more you gain.
